Ceramic Bead
A low-cost, high-efficiency surface treatment abrasive produced by melting zircon in an electric furnace above 2000℃. Suitable for both dry and wet processes, and unlike glass or steel bead it delivers a uniform surface roughness.
Composition
ZrO₂ 68% / SiO₂ 32%
Density
3.60 g/cm³
Specific Gravity
2.3
Hardness
643 ~ 785 HV (58 ~ 63 HRC)
Features
- High strength with excellent durability and heat resistance
- Uniform surface treatment gives consistent roughness, unaffected by humidity
- High density and strength deliver outstanding workability
- Long service life makes it exceptionally economical
Applications
- Manufacture of phosphors, battery electrode materials, pigments, paints, fine ceramic raw materials and abrasive powders
- Grinding and dispersion of dielectric, piezoelectric and magnetic electronic component materials
- Core material for the electrical, electronic, energy, bio, aerospace and catalyst industries
- Glass bead replacement; barrel and milling applications
